All Arno Bernard Bush Baby Series knives are named after the smallest beasts of Africa. They are survivors and deceptively cunning. They are the smallest knives in our collection and range from 5? to 5.75? in overall length. The Bush Baby Series knives cover a wide range of uses from small to medium-sized game cleaning (including birds) to excellent every day carry knives. Some are very well suited for pocket carry and neck carry as well.

About Bohler N690 Stainless Steel

N690 steel is so good for making knife blades that one prominent knife manufacturer uses only N690 steel. It has the right carbon content and the right cobalt content which results in a high-end stainless steel that has proven quite popular. The Austrian steel manufacturer Bohler, is the current source for N690 and they are considered to be a worldwide leader in the production of it. N690 is Bohler's best conventionally produced stainless knife steel. It features great value in a corrosion resistant knife steel with excellent edge holding capabilities. Additions of chromium and vanadium enhance edge holding capability, while cobalt and carbon help to retain high hardness. Hardens and tempers to 57-59 HRC and 60-62 HRC with deep freeze. The N690 steel composition is as follows: carbon 1.07%, chromium 17%, cobalt 1.5%, manganese .40%, molybdenum 1.10%, silicon .40% and vanadium .10%. The key to the hardness of N690 is the adding of cobalt to the steel matrix. The cobalt creates uniformity in the composition of the steel. The value of cobalt in a knife blade is that it an be sharpened to a fine edge and still have excellent edge retention.

Due to the nature of some of the materials used to produce Arno Bernard knives and the fact that they are hand made, some specifications may vary slightly from what is stated.
