The New Bark River Bush Seax is a modern interpretation of a Classic European Style. The Seax was a very popular knife that was a smaller version of the Viking - Germanic and later Saxon Scramasax or short Sword. Our Version of the Seax is closer to the British Isles Examples In popular usage the term came to mean knife more than sword. The Blade with it's slightly curved edge makes short work of cutting on a flat surface while being excellent for cutting suspended animals also. The point is fine enough for small tasks and the slight curve to the point is more than enough cutting curve to start long cuts in hides or meat. The Crossover to Bushcraft is obvious, the knife excels at carving, notching and scraping bark. This knife is a true piece of History adapted to modern usage.
