Description
This Great Eastern Cutlery Farm and Field Tool #35 Calf Pen knife/tool is one handy item to keep with you at all times. Its rugged construction means you can depend on years of use. With two different blades, and a flat blade screw driver on the end of the knife, you will find it quite useful in a variety of situations. A unique feature of this knife is that the Wharncliffe blade locks in position with a liner-lock which provides additional safety when using the blade. The knife is large enough for some serious work yet compact enough to easily carry. This well made pocket knife has a price that makes it a great value for your hard earned dollar. Made with pride in Titusville, PA. We are an authorized Great Eastern Cutlery Dealer and purchased this new knife direct from them.
The Blade(s):
This #35 Calf Pen knife has a Wharncliffe blade and a Spey blade that features one handed opening. Among other things, this is especially handy when you are holding onto something with one hand (that you can't let loose of), but need to cut something. You catch the cut-out on the end of the blade and pull it open with one hand and you're ready to use the knife. Both blades are 1095 steel and have a satin finish. Both blades have a cutting edge of 2.5" and the Wharncliffe blade has a nail nick for opening. Both blades feature a half stop and the action is crisp on both blades. The Wharncliffe blade features a graphic of a calf in a pen and the words "CALF PEN".
The Handle Construction:
The handle length is 3.75" and provides a solid four finger hold for most people. The handle scales are Orange Delrin and the liners are steel. The lanyard tube and pin are brass. The handle scale edges are rounded and flush with the outside perimeter making the knife more comfortable to hold.
