Description
The popular Great Eastern Cutlery #15 Navy Knife is a classic sailer's pocket knife design. It features a 440C stainless steel blade, brass liners and pins, acorn inlay and nickel silver bolsters. The sheepsfoot style blade minimizes the chances of anything accidentally being pierced by the point and provides safety when in an emergency situation such as when cutting someone free from seat belts. A sheepsfoot blade is very controllable, well suited to giving a clean cut while slicing and makes a great carving/whittling knife as well. Made with pride in Titusville, PA. We are an authorized Great Eastern Cutlery Dealer and purchased this new knife direct from them.
The Blade(s):
This knife features a single sheepsfoot style blade with a nail nick for opening. The cutting edge is 2.4". The 440C stainless steel blade has a polished finish and features a solid half stop. "NAVY KNIFE" is etched on the blade.
The Handle Construction:
The handle scales are Old Barn Chestnut and all attaching pins are brass. The handle scale edges are rounded and flush with the outside perimeter making the knife pleasant to hold. The bolsters are nickel silver and the liners are brass. The fit and finish are excellent and the blade action is crisp when opening and closing.
