The Great Eastern Cutlery Tidioute #97 Allegheny (Large Coke Bottle) is a traditional style pocket knife with the ever popular "coke bottle" shape handle. At 4.75" long, it's a realatively large knife that will handle a variety of cutting tasks that come up during ones day. Made with pride in Titusville, PA. We are an authorized Great Eastern Cutlery Dealer and purchased this new knife direct from them.
The Blade(s):
This Tidioute #97 Allegheny features a single, flat ground 1095 steel blade with a swedge grind. The Clip Point blade makes it a great knife for every day use. The satin finished blade has a cutting edge of 3.5" and a long pull nail nick for opening. "Allegheny Belle Riviere" is etched on the display side of the blade. There is a circle with three "P" letters inside the circle which stands for "Pattern Production Premier" on the right side of the blade since the Tidioute run is the first run for the #97 pattern.
The Handle Construction:
The handle scales are Autumn Gold Jigged Bone. The bolster, end cap and "TIDIOUTE" shield are nickel silver. The attaching pins and liners are brass. The handle scale edges are flush with the outside perimeter making the knife pleasant to hold. The fit and finish are excellent and the blade action is crisp when opening and closing.
PLEASE NOTE: These Great Eastern Cutlery, Tidioute Autumn Gold Jigged Bone knives are factory blems, meaning that there is an cosmetic imperfection so it cannot be soldas a first quality knife. It does not have a warranty... But the price isright! Typically the imperfection is slight and not readily noticeable.
