Description

The 1909 Michigan Bowie is actually very unique. It was designed in 1907 by Webster Marble in Gladstone, Michigan. It is not actually a Sheffield pattern and is closer to what is called a Tex-Mex Bowie of the Alamo period. It is truly an American Pattern. Mr. Marble got it into production in early 1909. The knife was in the Marbles line as their Trailmaker. Bark River Knives used the exact same pattern blade –but thickened the guard while retaining the aluminum pommel that is very close to the original shape. The knife is uniquely a Michigan style. There were only about 180 of these "First Run" 1909 Michigan Bowie knives made so they are quite rare. "1st Production Run" is etched on the right side of the blade.

Includes a heavy duty leather sheath designed after the Marbles Trailmaker sheath.
