Description
The Great Eastern Cutlery, Northfield, #29 Stockyard Whittler slip-joint pocket knife is truly a classic in every sense of the word. This three blade pocket knife provides you with options for a variety of cutting and piercing tasks. This version is produced on a medium-sized frame (3 9/16") and the handle is long enough to provide a four finger hold for most people. The shape of the knife and the rounded ends still allow the knife to easily ride in your pocket and be retrieved very nicely. This finely crafted pocket knife is a winner in every respect! Made with pride in Titusville, PA. We are an authorized Great Eastern Cutlery Dealer and purchased this new knife direct from them.
The Blade(s):
This knife features three blades, Clip, Sheep Foot and Punch. The cutting edges are 2 5/16", 2 1/8" and 2 1/8" respectively. The 1095 Carbon Steel blades have a polished finish. There is a half stop position. The blades deploy very smoothly and each one has a long pull nail nick to facilitate opening. The Clip point blade is on one end of the knife with the Sheep Foot blade and the Punch on the opposite end. The NORTHFIELD UN-X-LD Trade Mark is etched on the main blade.
The Handle Construction:
The handle scales are Sambar Stag and the attaching pins and liners are brass. The "pinched" bolsters are nickel silver. The handle scales are nicely shaped and are flush with the outside perimeter making the knife comfortable to hold. The fit and finish are excellent and the blade action is smooth with solid "parking" when deployed.
