This Great Eastern Cutlery Tidioute #54 is appropriately named the Big Jack. That's exactly what is is, a big traditional style, heavy duty, working pocket knife. This two-blade knife is designed and made for much harder use than your typical every day carry pocket knife. Whether you are on the ranch, your camp site or hunting, the strong back springs and stout construction will work hard for you. This Big Jack features Red River Acrylic handle scales. This heavy duty knife is right at home in the workers pocket and the collectors display case as well. Made with pride in Titusville, PA. We are an authorized Great Eastern Cutlery Dealer and purchased this new knife direct from them.
The regular clip and spear blades on the Big Jack are really neat because they open from the same end yet they are accessed (using the nail nick) on different sides. The clip blade opens on the display side while the spear opens from the back. So no matter how you pick it up or pull it out of your pocket, you have a cutting blade available. Both blades are crafted from easy sharpening 1095 carbon steel and feature a satin finish. Both blades feature feature a solid half stop. With the option of using a spear or clip point blade, this finely crafted knife will be handy in a variety of situations.
The Handle Construction:
The handle construction is what we've come to expect from Great Eastern Cutlery and features excellent fit and finish. The liners and pins are brass and the bolsters and inlay shield are nickel silver. The scales are Red River Acrylic, accenting its great looks. The handle scale edges are rounded and flush with the outside perimeter making the knife pleasant to hold. The fit and finish are excellent and the blade action is crisp when opening and closing.
