G10 is an ultra-resiliant poxy-rosin based material that will withstand hard use scenarios with ease. Micarta handles use canvas, linen, or paper as the binding material, whereas G10 uses sheets of fiberglass for the binding material. Both are excellent choices for knife handle materials, but in lab tests G10 is a bit stronger.

Top shelf replacement to the Becker factory scales on my BK5... lightly textured, but with no hot spots felt when chopping, and the built in satisfaction knowing they'll be impervious to the abuse I usually apply to my field gear. There's also the good feeling that comes with micarta, knowing that it'll still be easy to handle when it's exposed to blood or fat, and the fact that they're solid, unlike the originals, which easily captured dirt and contamination.

The quality of the hardware supplied made for a very secure fit, with no gaps or any kind of movement when the handles were stressed under a load, which is a major concern. Also grateful for all of the tools included to make the change over; I don't mind using my own, and God knows I've acquired a very large number of Allen wrenches in my life, but I was grateful all the same.

This is a highly recommended upgrade to the Becker line of knives, which use a superior grade of steel, but "went cheap" on the handles and supplied sheath in my view. The fact that these were made in Ohio just compounds my pleasure, and also means I'll be buying another set for my Machax.

Well done, and thanks very much.
