Description

The ESEE Knives Gibson Axe was design by James Gibson as a small, compact axe that will easily fit in a backpack. Gibson’s stated goal was a comfortable user tool that could do most camp chores, as well as being used for a carving axe among other things. The Viking bearded head allows for close up work and the finger grooved, textured scales along with the swell on the end provides an excellent gripping surface when chopping. The 1095 high carbon steel frame is about as indestructible as you can get for an axe this size. As with all ESEE knives products, the Gibson Axe comes with a No Questions Asked Lifetime Warranty!

I really like this axe but know I would love it with some TKC G10 handles! Look forward to seeing what you come up with to improve the grip!

This thing was a disappointment out of the box. It is significantly smaller than I anticipated but once I chopped down a few 100 year old pine trees with it my opinion changed. It is able to process wood for fire or shelter building no problem which is what I wanted it for. I’m knocking a star only because of the handles which did become uncomfortable in my hand after hard use. The leath sheath is also rather garbage. Besides those this thing is an excellent piece of gear.

We plan to release G10 handles to improve this Axe as soon as possible. An improved sheath is also being considered. Feel free to send us feedback/suggestions. -- TKC
