We have a large selection of knives from a variety of knife makers and manufacturers, however some blades stand out. The craftsmanship that goes into the LT Wright Knives we offer in our store have impressed us since day one, which is why we cannot recommend them enough. We've been selling LT Wright's handcrafted knives for years, and we're always excited to introduce our clients to this talented knifemaker and his staff.
Background
LT Wright Knives was founded by a man named LT Wright, if you hadn't already guessed. LT built his first knife as a gift for his father using a simple knife manufacturing kit before starting to make knives for a career. His father returned to him shortly after he finished this first knife with more orders from his pals. LT had found buyers for his knives without even trying. LT eventually began creating more knives in order to enhance his skills and realized that he had a passion for it.
He began attending knife events and networking with other local knife makers. It was at one of these events where LT met RW Wilson, an American knife manufacturer known for his tomahawks. RW sold him a professional knife grinder and mentored LT taught on the finer skills of knifemaking. As a result, LT decided it was time to leave his day job and devote his full attention to making knives. Since that day, LT Wright Knives has built a large enough shop to hire and teach more people the skill of knife manufacture by selling his knives and investing the profits in better equipment.
The Knives
The steel used to produce the blade is one of the most essential aspects in producing a high-quality knife. Varied steels have different qualities, and the LT Wright team is dedicated to ensuring that each knife is made of high-quality steel that complements the design.
Many knifemakers will adhere to high carbon steel, but the LT Wright team uses a variety of materials, including carbon steel, stainless steel, and several types of tool steel. If you have a preference for a particular knife steel, you can use our handy filters to check which models we have available in that steel.
LT Wright Knives' crew is meticulous about finding the proper handle scales for their knives, in addition to selecting the perfect blade material. Beautiful hardwoods and composite materials such as micarta are used for the handles. The handle scales on all of their knives are skillfully crafted to provide a stable and comfortable grip so you can work with them all day.
