We Make It Easy To Create Your Own Custom Hunting Knives

Having a good knife by your side while hunting is an essential. A good knife is one of the world’s most versatile tools and they can perform several duties for hunters. If you plan on field dressing or breaking down your game, a high quality knife is going to make the job a lot easier. Here at The Knife Connection, our customers can create their own custom hunting knives using our exclusive Custom Knife Builder. All you have to do is make a few simple decisions and then we will put together an amazing knife for you. Our goal is to make the process of creating a custom built knife package quick and easy.

Knife Model

The first step is to select the base knife model. You will be able to choose between options from ESEE Knives, the Ontario Knife Company, or our own Architect Knives. These knife options are all fixed blade knives that would be perfect for any hunting trip. The blade size and style will obviously vary by model, so you just have to find an option that will fit the size of game you are hunting and the types of tasks you will need to accomplish.

Blade Finish

The next option is choosing the finish of the blade. Our Architect knives are available in a clear Cerakote finish, but the ESEE and OKC knives we offer feature powder coated blades. You can choose the color of this finish from a number of options that will depend on the model of knife you have chosen. Some of the custom hunting knives that we offer, will also give you the option to select a partially serrated blade.

The coatings on these knife blades are designed to protect the steel and offer a desired appearance. They are intended to keep blades safe from moisture and erosive elements in the field so your knife will last longer without corroding. These coatings are fairly durable, though they can wear down after long periods of hard work.

Handle Scales

Your next choice will be the handle scales that your knife will feature. All of our custom made handle scales are machined from G10 composite laminate material. G10 is one of the strongest laminates available and is able to resist water damage as well as significant wear and tear without any ill effect. Because these handles are made by layering epoxy saturated fiberglass sheets, layering sheets with differently colored epoxy makes it easy to create unique color combinations.

Each of our handle scales are precision made using CNC machines, so you can rest assured that they will fit your knife perfectly. After you receive your order, you will attach the handle scales to the blade with the included hardware and wrenches and your knife will be complete! Sheath System

Now that you have a great fixed blade knife assembled, you are going to have to select a sheath to go with it. The number of available sheaths will obviously depend on the model of knife you have selected. We carry classic leather sheaths as well as tough kydex molded sheaths. This includes both belt loop and dangler sheaths so you can find whatever system that you are most comfortable with.

Many of our kydex sheaths will also be compatible with MOLLE gear giving you many carry options. The hole spacings on the sheath allow you to add a number of accessories such as a pouch or firesteel loop for example.

Accessories

Finally, you can decide whether or not you would like to add some extra accessories along with your new custom hunting knife. One of the most common accessories is a firesteel. These useful little rods are extremely useful in a survival scenario and you can even find one that will match the handle scales of your new knife. Our list of accessories also includes options like a small knife sharpener, an ESEE arrowhead, or a length of paracord to go with your new knife.
