Description

Kukrax Pack Axe

The Kukrax Pack Axe is a one-piece forged axe from Kukrax Products, named after the kukri that inspires its sloped-forward design—built for campers, bushcraft users, and outdoor enthusiasts who want a practical chopping and utility tool that never needs a new handle. This axe is made from 1075 carbon steel with a 5-inch head, 0.177-inch blade thickness, and flat grind. At 15.75 inches overall and 31.04 ounces, the Pack Axe carries real chopping mass, and it ships with a leather mask that protects the bit in storage and during transport.

The 1075 steel is chosen for its shock resistance, making it well suited to chopping, prying, and tasks you wouldn't trust to a knife. Because the axe is forged from a single piece of blade stock with walnut scales affixed, there is no haft to break and no need to rehang it. The sloped-forward design gives a mechanical advantage for splitting small logs, quartering wood, and riving material for shingles or camp furniture. The partial paracord wrap at the throat offers secure purchase when you choke up on the tang and stores extra cordage for repairs or lashing. The pointed toe handles marking, notching, and detail work, while the small beard allows hand placement for push cuts and scraping. Walnut scales add warmth and character, though the steel needs care to resist rust. Made in El Salvador, this is a bombproof, unconventional axe built for practical camp work.
