Lishen Knives Bushdog Desert Ironwood
The Bushdog from Lishen Knives is a heavy-duty camp and bushcraft fixed blade handmade by Christian Lishen in Bristol, Tennessee. It's built for campers, bushcraft enthusiasts, and outdoor users who want one knife that can handle woodcraft and heavier camp work. This knife features a 5.875-inch AEB-L blade at 0.16 inches thick with a high saber grind, delivering a strong balance of toughness and cutting capability. At 10.75 inches overall, the Bushdog offers commanding reach for batoning, splitting, and processing wood.
The high saber grind tapers thin behind the edge, so the Bushdog slices cleanly through camp food prep and delicate tasks as well as heavier work. The sharp 90-degree spine is tuned for striking fire steels, adding a useful fire-starting function to the blade. Desert ironwood scales sit over black liners and are secured with mosaic pins, giving the handle warm, rich grain and a firm grip. Because the handle is natural wood, the grain and pattern will vary from knife to knife, so each Bushdog is one of a kind. The contoured handle provides a secure hammer grip, and the front is rounded so you can choke up for detail work. AEB-L steel is known for toughness and corrosion resistance, and it responds well to field sharpening when you're far from home. Lishen's small-batch, hand-finished production means each Bushdog is built with the careful attention a true one-knife solution deserves.
