Genesis

L.T. Wright Knives is a rethinking and a rebirth of a company started years ago. The company has returned with more knowledge, skill, and experience than before. We wanted quality products that you'll feel proud to hand down to the next generation. We think we've hit those points with the first new offering in the Genesis.

This nine inch overall Scandi ground bush knife really likes to work. With features such as Micarta scales and heavy duty hardware, it'll get the job done for you no matter what the circumstances. We take the time to do the little things: making sure the epoxy isn't just on the scales, but around every bit of the hardware, including the threads of the brass nut, to ensure a completely sealed scale set. The Scandi grind is a high polish on the whole surface to make sure there is no drag when cutting. This is a great finish to the 1/8" A2 tool steel we use and it really makes for a superior edge. More improvements are the thumb scallops on each side allowing more comfortable control doing close up work. And of course, a spine sharpened up like an ice skate so the edge is 90 degrees to allow the spine of the knife to work as hard as the edge. Whether you're getting a tinder bundle scraped off a branch or striking a ferro rod off there, that spine will allow you to save the blade for fine cutting tasks. This Genesis knife features green canvas micarta scales.

The package is completed with a custom Kydex/leather hybrid Piggyback set-up that allows extreme versatility when you are out in the field. It also includes a 3/8" fire steel loop so your firesteel is right at hand when needed.

The Genesis is not only a great purchase value but will be valued for years by providing efficient, dependable service.

Frontier First Patch

Whether you are looking for a small hunting knife or an every day carry knife, the Frontier First Patch knife is a solid performer that will not let you down. This knife is great for handling small and medium-sized game animals. It's a perfect knife for every day carry as its size and design lend themselves very well for a variety of tasks.

This LT Wright Handcrafted Knives Frontier First knife features black canvas micarta for the handle scales. It is 5.5" long and the cutting edge is 2.25" long. The blade thickness is .125" and it weighs 2.1 ounces.

This knife is made from A2 tool steel which is a great carbon steel for cutting tools. A2 tool steel will take a very keen edge, is abrasive resistant and tough which makes this an excellent knife for aggressive users. The blade is flat ground.

This knife will last for a lifetime if properly taken care of.

About A2 Carbon Steel
AISI A2 is a carbon steel with the addition of 5% chromium and 1.1% molybdenum, allowing it to quench in still air (A for Air.) While stainless amounts of chromium (12% or more) can make tool steel gummy and hard to sharpen, the modest amount of chromium in A2 improves its toughness and abrasion resistance, but imparts only a slight measure of corrosion resistance (like all carbon steels, it will rust and appropriate preventative care must be taken.) During heat treatment the chromium addition combines with some of the carbon in the alloy to form chromium carbides: tough, hard particles dispersed through the steel. These carbides are the primary contributors to A2's celebrated edge retention. A2 is one of the steels that responds well to cryogenic treatment. This extreme cold treatment (-320 degrees F) essentially finishes the original quench, increasing the Steel's toughness without any decrease in hardness. You get increased wear resistance without any increase in brittleness so a cryogenically treated blade will hold its edge longer. You can keep working instead of sharpening. A2 is a great steel that offers a real improvement in edge retention over some of the simpler carbon steels.
