Description
The Wilderness Guide 4.0 has been a staple design for TOPS for quite some time. Created by Leo Espinoza early in his career, this knife is notable for its distinctive handle shape. At the time, Leo was using modeling clay to support knives while photographing them. While playing with the clay, he noticed that the shape he had inadvertently created would make for a comfortable knife handle. He then designed the knife with a broad blade and a high grind, making it suitable for various tasks.
Recently, Leo decided to update the design by incorporating a thicker, more rounded handle, a slightly thicker blade stock, and replacing the original nylon sheath with a Kydex one. The bullnose drop-point tip of this blade is both sturdy and practical, ideal for preparing fire boards for friction fires. Its less sharp point also makes it well-suited for skinning game without puncturing the hide. The Wilderness Guide ’23 offers a robust and versatile tool for a wide range of uses.
