Description
There are a lot of adages about how important ounces are when traveling long distances on foot. That is especially true for big game hunters. In the end, their entire goal is to pack out A LOT more weight than they packed in to begin with. That means they must carefully select every piece of gear with weight as a main consideration.Because of this, most guys cannot carry multiple knives for multiple purposes. This is why the TOPS Muley Knives were designed. The idea was to include a multi-purpose knife capable of more than just skinning, with a saw/gut hook as a separate tool. The knife will be great for most daily use and many tasks involved in field dressing an animal. The saw/gut hook tool is there when you need it to help start the initial gutting and to cut through bones/cartilage to quarter an animal. Both are made with 154cm to provide great performance and edge retention. The G10 liners and handles will be a little easier to keep clean than some other materials that will absorb and/or stain from blood, and the orange will help keep the tools visible in foliage. For those purchasing the combo, there are two options. There is a single leather sheath with a double-dangler set up that will fit both parts of the kit in one sheath that rides quite comfortably on your hip. The other combo option has both tools in separate Kydex sheaths so they can be worn next to each other or one on each hip. Of course, the option to buy one or the other and not a combo is also available.
