Description
The WK Ridge Line Hatchet was designed using real-world observations from a wide range of axes produced by Winkler Knives, including several Tier 1 Team–specific models. Those designs demonstrated that a broader cutting edge delivers exceptional performance, so the Ridge Line Hatchet was given a significantly wider blade than any other axe in the Winkler lineup.
One of the most common repairs seen on full-tang axes involves damage to full-length wooden handles, often caused by miss-strikes or attempts to split logs. To address this, the Ridge Line Hatchet features shortened handle scales, leaving a portion of the tang exposed to absorb impact and abuse—dramatically increasing durability where it matters most.
Balance and speed were also key design considerations. Lessons learned from the WK Twenty 24 Axe showed that ¼″ steel offers superior balance and faster handling, so the Ridge Line Hatchet uses thinner stock instead of the traditional ⅜″ steel commonly found in other axes. The result is quicker action without sacrificing strength.
Like the Twenty 24, the Ridge Line Hatchet includes a rear spike designed for breaching and combat applications, while also serving as an effective digging and utility tool in the field.
Purpose-built, durable, and refined through hard-earned experience, the WK Ridge Line Hatchet is a serious tool designed for professionals and users who demand performance under pressure.
