The Strop Bat brings four distinct leather surfaces to your sharpening station, ready to work. Crafted in Schaumburg, IL, from red oak, this workshop-ready tool features a 6-inch handle and 9-inch stropping zone—the perfect size for maintaining that final edge on any blade. Three leather surfaces come pre-loaded with compounds graded approximately Black 3000, Green 5000, and Blue 7000. One bare leather side lets you experiment with your own compounds, oils, or emulsions. 16 inches overall with laser-marked TKC branding into the leather. Alcohol cleans leather but pulls oils—use saddle soap or mineral oil to soften if needed. Some stropping solutions contain solvents that may affect glue bonds, but leather can be easily reglued with epoxy if separation occurs. A naked version is also available for full customization. Ready to go right out of the box.
